Summary (TLDR; of project)

In Ethiopia, where 23.5% of the population lives below the poverty line, Eden Reforestation Projects aims to counter severe deforestation—428,000 hectares lost from 2001 to 2020—by implementing restoration projects that enhance water resources, reduce landslide impacts, and provide fair wage employment. Initiated in 2005 at the request of Ethiopia’s then-President, the projects have planted nearly 16 million trees, and now, revisiting with a focus on sustainable methods like agroforestry and Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration, they manage over 2,360 hectares in the Dawuro zone to revitalize both the community and landscape.
